A place to write He lived in the West, sang in the East and wrote in the middle, in Schöneberg: this was Wilfried’s geography. He wrote Le Cœur des enfants léopards, which won the Francophonie and Senghor awards in 2007, at the Café M. The decor is all red and black, with fake leather stools. What makes it special to him is that it still has a spirit that’s been lost elsewhere: here you can stay for hours talking without ordering much; it’s open at all hours, as long as there are still customers; and at least twice a week, there are good old-fashioned noisy concerts.
