Air Europa is moving forwards in the execution of its growth plan and has incorporated nine of the 11 aeroplanes that will be added to its fleet in the announced growth plan, which will not only enable the airline to reinforce its strategic role in the Madrid hub, but also increase operations and respond to growing demands. The arrival in July of the new Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 Dreamli-ners, which are already operating during these months, means that the summer season can be faced with the necessary reinforcement to guarantee the achievement of the expansion stage in which the airline is currently immersed. In this regard, during the second half of the year, the airline’s main routes will reach the same levels as prior to the pandemic, even improving the available offer and the number of passengers transpor-ted. In fact, the number of seats offered for the last six months of the year will surpass the figure obtained in 2019 by 5%. Throughout this financial year, Air Europa will reach a total of its 23 destinations on the American continent, added to another 33 in Spain and Europe. In the same way, the fleet unification in which the airline is making progress does not only make it possible to increase the number of seats per plane, it can also optimise the number of flights, due to giving preference to efficiency and effectiveness criteria. Actually, the Dreamliner fleet, with which Air Europa covers the totality of its transoceanic flights, stands out for its incomparable environmental performance, given that it reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 20%, and its noise footprint is 60% smaller than any other similarly sized planes.
