Consulting & Products Consulting & Products Magnetic Hull Crawler (M.H.C) TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT project experience project experience references references 2022@TechnipEnergies - All rights reserved The MHC vehicle is a remotely operated system dedicated to inspection, cleaning and maintenance of steel immersed structure such as hull. Equipped with strong magnets, it is able to crawl in any orientation, in air or subsea. Depending on customer needs, various payloads (ultrasonic, cathodic protection) and vision capabilities (cameras and lights...) can be adapted to the system for inspection, cleaning and thickness gauging tasks. The MHC vehicle is suitable for different fields of application such as hull cleaning and class-certification surveys of ships and offshore floating units. The MHC is fully adapted to commercial shipping, offshore oil & gas industries and onshore facilities (eg internal pipeline inspections). Typical Deployment Project experience References The MHC can be used for hull cleaning, inspection and thickness measurements. Most hull forms can be accommodated including Ship shape (eg FLNG/FPSO, FSO, FSRU), Semi, TLP, Spars and barges so long as they are fabricated from steel (ie a ferromagnetic material). Depending on the task required, the MHC payload is adjusted accordingly. • 2015 CONFIDENTIAL (FR) Container ship hull inspection trial • 2013 CONFIDENTIAL (FR) Drinking water pipeline inspection • 2012 CONFIDENTIAL (FR) Drinking water pipeline inspection • 2010 BUTAGAZ + BV (FR) UT inspection of buried tanks • 2009 AQUABLAST (UK) UHP demo in dry dock in Malta ABS agreement for the complete service provided by DCNS, including 2 MHC and the specific Ultrasonic CND mapping solution. MHC solution was developed in partnership with BV during the CAS project through the OpenHCM (Hull Conditioning Monitoring) Consortium.
