Gas & Low-Carbon Energies Gas & Low-Carbon Energies Electric Power Systems TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT project experience project experience 2022@TechnipEnergies - All rights reserved Electric Power Systems are at the heart of all major offshore platforms. They include power generation and distribution systems feeding large rotating machinery such as pumps and compressors, small electric motor drives, heaters, plus control, ESD, F&G and telecoms systems fed via UPS systems. The ability to perform electrical network calculation studies is a vital part of electrical power systems design. Typical Deployment Project experience All offshore platforms have an electrical power system. Electrical power may be imported by cable from shore or an adjacent platform or be generated onboard. Power generation may range from solar power for small platforms through to large turbogenerators. Emergency or essential power is often supplied by diesel engine driven gensets. Power is distributed (at different voltage levels) via switch- boards, transformers and cabling systems. Technip Energies has designed some of the largest power generation and distribution systems on oil and gas projects outside of the power generation sector itself. Examples include: Prelude (80 MW generation), Martin Linge (55 MW import by 145KV submarine cable).
