It has a relatively smaller weight compared to a platform with high payloads typical of Production and Drilling platforms. • The Buoy hull is a single small diameter cell without centerwell and fabricated by rolling plate and having only ring stiffeners. Compressed air is used for adjusting ballast without using permanent pumps and caissons in the hull. Typical Deployment Project experience References Unmanned platforms that have small payloads with good stability and relatively smaller motions. Functionalities include power generation/ distribution platforms for long distance tie-backs, utility platforms to support subsea production, minimal partial processing platforms, etc. The topsides payload could be up to 3000 mT. Equinor Hywind platform installed in Norwegian Sea and Scotland. The Spar Buoy is a simpler version of Anadarko’s Cell Spar in the Gulf of Mexico which consists of multiple cells. OTC 29648 (2019).
