Gas & Low-Carbon Energies Gas & Low-Carbon Energies Mooring Foundations TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT project experience project experience references references 2022@TechnipEnergies - All rights reserved • The type of mooring foundation mainly depends on the soil conditions and the value of the mooring loads. The most common types of anchoring are suction and driven piles. • The anchor point is usually located below the mudline to dissipate the loads in the soil and to balance the vertical and horizontal forces to optimize the pile dimension and weight. Typical Deployment Project experience References Mooring foundations must be installed prior to the arrival of the unit to be moored and can be located in deep or shallow water. Installation depends on the water depth and the size of the anchors. Driven piles may need a stabbing frame and a subsea hammer, whereas suction piles need a pumping spread. Added ballast is sometime necessary to ease the installation. • Mooring Piles for Shell Prelude FLNG (EPC) • Energean Karish FPSO (EPC) • Shell Browse (FEED) • BP Tortue FPSO (EPC) • Naval Energies Groix Floating Wind Turbines (Assistance to Tender) Internal documentation and feed-back from past projects.
