Ravenol Classic Oils The need for Classic Oils? DA4963 DA4964 Oils for modern engines need to comply with the latest API ratings and specific ACEA and OEM specifications concerned with improving fuel efficiency, extending oil drain intervals and exhaust treatment systems such as diesel particle filters. A classic car engine has the opposite characteristics with cork/graphite/rope seals, low pressure gear driven oil pumps, larger oil galleries with greater dependence on “splash” and “cling” lubrication, lower revving with larger machining tolerances. This type of engine design demands a totally different lubricant. The range of Ravenol Classic Oils offers formulations that have been specially blended to meet the requirements of older vehicles. Special anti-wear additives with the correct amount of zinc (ZDDP) are added to ensure that metal to metal contact and irreparable engine damage is prevented, especially to camshafts and followers, which can wear out in only a few thousand miles when using modern oils. The careful selection of appropriate corrosion inhibitors, special dispersant additives and the correct levels of detergency protect against pitting, the build-up of gums, lacquers, sludge, DA4965 soot and metallic ash - the normal by-products of combustion. www.britpart.com/ravenol Ravenol Classic SAE 30 DA4963 5 litres Monograde engine oil for pre-1960 Land Rovers Ravenol Classic SE 20W-50 By using Ravenol Classic Oils DA4964 5 litres Multi-grade engine oil for post 1960 petrol Land Rovers in your classic Land Rover Ravenol MZG EP 80W-90 GL4 you are protecting both DA4965 1 litre DA1532 4 litres engine and transmission Transmission oil for early Land Rover gearboxes, transfer boxes and differentials. Recommended for the lubrication of all manual transmissions, differential gears, transfer boxes - for generations to come. and steering boxes of most early Land Rovers where a GL4 specification is called for. Just Added... Workshop Pro Solvent Cleaner DA3953 NEW 400ml A powerful residue-free solvent degreaser and brake cleaner. A complex mixture of hydrocarbon and oxygenated solvents designed to clean and degrease all flat and irregular surfaces. Workshop Pro Solvent Cleaner is free from chlorinated and other ozone depleting solvents and is provided in aerosol form to provide an easy means of applying to surfaces, the powerful jet allowing easy purging of blind holes and crevices. After degreasing, the solvent evaporates rapidly leaving components chemically clean and free from oily and corrosive residues. The low temperature resulting from rapid evaporation may, in some instances, be used for shrink- fitting of small mechanical parts. Features > Excellent degreasing properties > Rapid removal of dirt and debris > Chlorine free > Applications > Particularly designed to remove all dirt and deposits from brake shoes and to evaporate leaving behind no residues. Also recommended for general degreasing applications in a workshop environment. Note: Due to the flammability of the product Solvent Cleaner is not recommended for use on electrical equipment, particularly where “sparking” may occur. MEG Anti-freeze & Radiator Coolant DA3952 NEW 1 litre DA3951 NEW 5 litres MEG Anti-freeze will protect engines from frost damage right down to –40ºC, whilst providing outstanding protection against rust and corrosion for all parts of the cooling system. This monoethylene glycol (MEG) based antifreeze meets the technical requirements of BS6580:2010 and is recommended for all year round use. Features >Does not allow rust or corrosion to take place with cast iron, aluminium, copper alloys, solder, or any other metals found in the engine cooling system and therefore prolongs the life of the block, cylinder liners, radiator, pump and heater system. > Does not form sediment, precipitate additives or form gels. > No adverse effects on rubber hoses or gasket materials and will not cause leaks. > Last for up to two years in service, when a 50% solution is maintained. Does not form harmful foam inside the system. > Compatible with all good quality ethylene glycol antifreezes of this type. > Nitrite, amine and phosphate (NAP) free. > Includes borate and silicate. Applications Suitable for most engine cooling systems found in cars, vans, trucks, agricultural equipment and contractor’s plant. Note - Always check the manufacturer’s handbook or seek technical advice in case an alternative antifreeze type is required. Performance Exceeds the requirements of many European and International Standards including: ASTM D3306, SAE J 1034, BS 6580 (2010). Photo by Sirsendu Gayen 255
