Training and Employment Our commitment to providing work experience placements has seen recognition through an ‘Outstanding Employer Contribution award from the Education Business Partnership. Erith has funded a number of apprenticeships, NVQs, Degrees and Master’s Degrees, aimed at providing people of all ages with a chance to develop their skills for a potential career within the industry. Erith has had prominent involvement with the Prince’s Trust Foundation and various campaigns with Local Authorities, working closely with schools to provide information and prosperous opportunities within the company. ETS (Erith Training Services), the Group’s internal training provider, has been set up in order to enhance the training capabilities of the group catering for most aspects of the diverse training needs of each division. ETS since its formation has delivered a vast amount of training across the Group to enable sites to remain operational whilst remaining compliant with the requirements of the regulations and law, whilst simultaneously ensuring the workforce are safe and suitably qualified for their role. ETS is an approved training scheme by the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) for Technicians and Engineers. ETS have been accredited to a number of schemes including collaborative working with NDT Group and NFDC, enabling training on subjects from Asbestos Awareness to D90 demolition plant. ETS are also accredited to NPORS for plant operations, including handheld plant and lifting operations. Furthermore, ETS has also joined on board with Swanton Consulting to deliver Site Safety Plus Courses through CITB. Swanton is also one of the first funders at the Centre of Excellence at City University. Our ever-evolving and expanding training scheme now consist of a purpose-built dedicated training centre, constructed by our own teams, which caters for a breadth of training needs including: » 90x90m training centre offering excavation facilities. » Hard standing for lifting & haulage operations. » Above ground confined space training rig. » 10m tower enabling forklift operations. » Work at height and co-worker rescue training. » 3 x classrooms seating up to 15 people.
