In Dakar, the historic centre of the Foundation’s activities, Air France CEO Anne Rigail took part in a thirtieth anniversary celebration in the company of Ndeye Saly Diop, Senegal’s Minister for Women, the Family and Child Protection. The event showcased the non-profit Empire des enfants, which promotes social reintegration and provides care for child victims of violence in Senegal. In Paris on June 1, Thomas Pesquet, astronaut with the European Space Agency (ESA) and board member of the Air France Foundation, welcomed children from the non-profit organization ENVOL and their parents for a behind-the-scenes tour of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. The children from this non-profit, which provides specially adapted trips, recreational outings and other activities to young patients between ages 6 and 25, met Air France teams and learned about their jobs. In Antananarivo on October 4, we celebrated our 30th anniversary with a public gathering alongside Father Pedro from the non-profit Akamasoa, which fights for the dignity and health of children living on the streets of the capital of Madagascar. It is working to build structures (schools, clinics and workplaces) to improve their living conditions and make them more independent. Nathaly Charbonnier, Chairwoman of the non-profit Aïna, was also with us to present these projects that provide a stable emotional, educational and medical environment for at-risk children without a father or mother at her shelter in Madagascar. In Marseille on the same day, children from the Learning to Learn programme gathered on Prado Beach to celebrate our anniversary with the Graines de Joie association and its godfather, Frédéric Bousquet, Olympic swimming champion.
