The Air France Foundation has been supporting Audition Solidarité since 2010. Founded in 2008, it carries out humanitarian work in France and abroad, fitting hearing aids to extremely vulnerable deaf and hard-of-hearing children. It also opened the first hearing aid recycling centre. In 2022, we contributed 25,000 euros to an AuditionSolidarité project in the Dominican Republic. The aim is to help deaf and hard-of-hearing children living in poverty escape exclusion by enabling them to hear and speak. The project will provide hearing aids for 450 girls and boys aged between 3 and 18 from eight schools. It will then support them on a daily basis with speech therapists. The non-profit is setting up a full hearing support programme, providing on-site training for technicians to maintain and repair hearing aids, as well as for teachers to support the children as they learn to speak and hear. In the Dominican Republic, 85% of the 100,000 people suffering from hearing problems are under 19. In this country, where the average monthly salary is just 305 euros, families cannot afford hearing aids. The Air France Foundation has committed to this long-term partnership to support these children as their hearing needs evolve. In 2015, AuditionSolidarité was awarded the Air France Corporate Foundation Prize. SCROLL A Place for Families on Réunion Island The Air France Foundation is renewing its support for Case Marmaillons, a centre for families in difficulty in Saint-Pierre. Since November 2007, Case Marmaillons has been welcoming parents and children from birth to 6 years of age in Saint-Pierre (Réunion), in the Ravine Blanche priority neighbourhood. This meeting place is designed for families in very precarious psychological and social situations, referred by their medical and social partners, more than a third of whom are single parents. For several years now, the Air France Foundation has been supporting Case Marmaillons, whose mental health teams provide families with support through discussion groups and artistic and cultural workshops. Our work will continue in 2022, strengthening this support and guidance for children in difficulty through writing workshops, storytelling, fairy tales, theatre, etc. These initiatives empower parents to be more involved, to better socialise and integrate their children. We donated €10,000 in 2022. SCROLL In Chennai in south-east India, we have been supporting Life Project 4 Youth for several years, which takes care of the children of young mothers who are excluded from society while they are in school. Since 2012, the Air France Foundation has regularly funded projects run by the LP4Y Alliance (Life Project 4 Youth), a federation of 17 organisations in 14 countries whose mission is to develop solutions for the professional and social inclusion of young people aged 17 to 24 living in extreme poverty. Life Project 4 Youth creates training centres so that these excluded young people can build career goals and develop the life skills and knowledge needed for sustainable integration. Because 83% of the people supported in training are young women and young mothers, LP4Y has set up a network of daycares so that they can drop off their children during lessons or when they are at work. In the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia and India, the Little Angels Academy takes in the children of young excluded parents, using a special teaching method. They have become resource centres for parents in terms of hygiene, nutrition, safety and child development. In 2022, the Air France Foundation provided €16,000 for the daycare at the Chennai shelter in south-east India.
