24 The first... meeting With Polder’s co-founders Madelon Lanteri-Laura & Natalie Vodegel “We met the team in 2007 when we were launching our new children’s collection, April Showers by Polder. It was a happy time when the whole sector was very effervescent. The collection was immense with household linen, our famous Lurex socks, small leather bags and all the ready- to-wear collection. Our offering was perfectly in tune with Cécile’s desire to present cutting edge designers. We wanted to work with Smallable because we felt we shared the same tastes, the same high standards and the same quest for beautifully finished, upmarket items. Cécile trusted us and chose our most innovative models, exceptional pieces in very bold colours. We made a good team with what were, at the time, pioneering concepts in France. Markets change quickly, particularly the children’s market that has ups and downs and is very competitive. The way the website evolves is intelligent and well adapted. It has diversified with home and design products, teen and women’s fashions etc. Smallable has become a lifestyle brand, but has never lost sight of its founders’ love of beautiful, lovely, exceptional things. As for us, we are focusing on women with special team-ups and new themes.” kcabhsalF
