Cantabria Labs CEO Susana Rodríguez discusses the importance of developing good leadership in companies, because the people who guide us must have a good understanding of the road to follow before starting out. The Value of Good Leadership First up, what would you say is the importance of having good leaders in an organisation? Good leaders are vital because their role in the day-to-day work is to make projects happen. Systems can generate valuable information and processes mark criteria but at the end of the day work is done by people for people. Good leaders earn respect not because of their position, but by showing teams members that they believe in them so that they feel engaged and want to improve. Their goal is to ensure that projects happen, that people feel engaged and responsible, and that the company meets its objectives. In a changing environment like today’s, their help is fundamental, because agility is a competitive advantage. In this scenario, how can we best respond to uncertainty? I think leaders are the answer. We don’t need more analyses or greater product variety, nor less entrepreneurship or assets. What we need is good leaders - we put it all on the line with the people in charge.
