FREE ADMISSION In Paris, public parks and gardens, as well as churches, are freely accessible to the public (the rare exceptions are indicated in this guide). The permanent collections of 12 municipal museums in Paris (see p.110) may be visited free of charge (admission charge applies for the Archaeological Crypt of the Île de la Cité and the Cata- combes). There is however an admission charge for temporary exhibitions for over 18-year-olds. In national museums and monuments, admission is free for the following public: all visitors aged under 18, EU citizens aged 18-25, French teachers currently in employment, students, French jobseekers, French people receiving the minimum social benefits, disabled people and the person accompanying them. Admission to the permanent collections of these museums and monuments is free for everyone on the first Sunday of each month (either all year round or just during part of the year, according to site; Musée du Louvre: 1st Saturday of the month during late night opening hours). Many other museums are free throughout the year: the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace, Musée de la Légion d’Honneur, Musée du Parfum – Fragonard, etc. More information on: www.parisinfo.com ACCESSIBLE PARIS Find all the useful information for a pleasant stay in Paris as well as the tourism offer acces- sible to people with disabilities on PARISINFO.com (rubric ‘Practical Paris’, fact file ‘Visiting Paris with a disability’) and in the Accessible Paris guide, published by the Tourist Office and available at our information centres. In this guide, cultural and leisure sites marked ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ guarantee a high level of accessibility to the facilities and services that they offer to people whose disability is indicated by the associated pictogram. However, the majority of other sites in this guide also offer facil- ities and services that make it easier for people with disabilities to visit them. Don’t forget your proof of status document or a medical certificate dated less than three months old to take advantage of any free (or reduced) admissions or attractions for visi- tors with disabilities and the person accompanying them. To get around the city, the public transport network offers some adapted features and specific services.
