LMS. Solids Mechanics Laboratory A joint research unit CNRS, École Polytechnique, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, 91120 Palaiseau, France. Mechanics Research at the Solid Mechanics Laboratory is based on experiments, mathematical and numerical modeling of the mechanic behavior of materials and structures over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. > Read more > Read more discover LMS website > discover LMS website > Research areas Material behavior and multiscale analysis Behavior and durability of structures Multidisciplinary mechanics Mechanics of living organisms Key figures 23 Permanent researchers 11 Postdoctoral students 39 PhD students 63 Average number of publications per year It also includes the modeling of tissues and living organisms. The laboratory uses customized and commercial experimental facilities as well as a wide range of computational tools. Robust, accurate models combined with cutting-edge experiments are developed in-house, making it possible to combine mechanics with other physical measurements (temperature, magnetic and electric fields) or even physical measurements.
