Learn more about the project Learn more about the project Luna’s functionalities include calendar integration, seamlessly syncing with users’ personal calendars for up-to-the-minute details on class times, group meetings and event itineraries. It also delivers regular news and weather updates and even musical recommendations, complete with playlists customized according to user preferences. Powering Luna is a blend of different technologies. Our student team used Python to build its AI and API architecture, while the UI design process leveraged Streamlit for minimal coding and maximum user-friendliness. Luna’s conversational, human-like responses come from the OpenAI API, while others—including the Spotify API and various weather and localization APIs—were used to perform specific functions. Team member and IE Robotics & AI Club co- founder Diego oversaw Luna’s design and development. Meanwhile, Isabel handled news and weather integrations and the UI, while Laura managed the calendar and music integration. Progress is ongoing: the team has already added a new chat mode that preserves historical user interactions to deliver more tailored recommendations. They’ve also started working on a more advanced version of Luna that will leverage emotion detection techniques for more relevant responses and even greater personalization.
