Giulia, an alum from the Bachelor in Economics, tells us about her internship experience on the regulatory strategy team at Eurex, as well as where she sees her future heading with the skill set she acquired at IE University. Could you tell us about your latest internship experience? I am currently pursuing an internship as a member of the regulatory strategy team at Eurex/Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt. Last year I completed an internship at Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt in the risk management division, so I was already used to the organization’s work culture. However, the work and tasks between the two internships are very distinct. A significant part of my role on the regulatory strategy team involves conducting research on different aspects of capital markets, regulation and policy. I have been actively involved in various consultations from regulatory bodies, such as the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFIN). My internship also includes working on topics related to crypto and digital assets, ESG and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation and Directive (MiFIR/MiFID II). To date, my internship at Eurex has been a great learning experience, allowing me to gain insights into the world of financial regulation and policy making.
