Precious materials Your new baby gift list can be a great way of stocking your baby’s wardrobe with gorgeous, quality materials. You will keep them for years, and can even hand them down to any new brothers or sisters. In the meantime, we’ll explain the differences between these three fibres. Baby Alpaca Alpacas are related to the famous llamas of South America. Their wool is one of the most precious kinds in the world; as well as being warm and soft, it is also strong, water-resistant and hypoallergenic. The “baby” part does not mean it comes from a young alpaca; instead, it refers to the material’s fine fibres. This wool can be machine-washed on a cold wash or special wool programme, or hand-washed. As used by: Oeuf NYC, Baby Alpaga, Aymara, Bonton and Omibia. Cashmere Soft, beautiful, warm: cashmere wool is a must to keep your baby comfortable. This wool is from Mongolian goats, which roam the famous region of Kashmir. Wool from anywhere else cannot be called “cashmere”. Its properties include its feather-light weight, warmth and softness. Care-wise, it can be machine-washed on a cold wash or special wool programme, or hand- washed. As used by: Ketiketa, Les Lutins, Emile et Ida, Caramel, Burberry, Cataleya, Omibia... Pima Cotton This organic cotton grown in the Andes is simply wonderful. It is soft, smooth and stretchy, hypoallergenic, hardweaing,r breathable and absorbent. You could say that’s it’s the Rolls Royce of cottons! As used by: Oeuf NYC, Aymara, Gold, Tartine et Chocolat...
